FAQ

How do I register?

To begin, click on the Create an Account link in the Secure Sign In section of the MyMedicare.gov home page. You can also click on the Sign Up link that appears in the Registration Information section on the right-hand side of the same page. This will open the Registration page.

You must fill out all of the required fields on the registration page and click the Continue button to submit your registration request.

Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Beneficiaries: If you are a RRB beneficiary, you will need to click on the checkbox next to the words "Check this box if you are a Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Beneficiary" on the registration page. You will then be taken to a registration page specially designed for you.

If your information does not match the information we have on file from the Social Security Administration (SSA) or RRB, your registration request will fail. If your information has changed, you must update your information with the SSA or RRB to be able to successfully register with MyMedicare.gov.
The contact number for the Social Security Administration is: 1-800-772-1213. To contact the Railroad Retirement Board, please call your local RRB office.
Once your registration request has been successfully processed, you will see a confirmation page on the screen.
